Hotel Manager

The quality and success of the cruise rests significantly on the capable shoulders of our Hotel Manager – an exceptional leader who is hands-on, leads by example and enables a high-performance culture in a diverse team. As the supervisor of all the departments under the hotel division, the Hotel Manager provides day-to-day operational leadership and direction and maximizes financial returns. Guest-focused and service-oriented, they are responsible for achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost and quality control, and ensuring outstanding guest and team satisfaction. Not only does the Hotel Manager ensure that passengers have a superlative experience, but they also build a pleasant working environment for the crew. We are looking for candidates with experience in similar positions (hotel general manager, corporate hotel manager, general manager, event manager, operations manager).

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Management or in the Hospitality Operations or several years of experience as Hotel Manager on river cruise ships or Hotel operations of 4 & 5 stars
  • fluency in German and/or English both written and spoken
  • ability to motivate people to perform at their best, setting your own performance as their example
  • excellent administration and logistics skills
  • a flair for organization
  • knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • experience on cruise ships is an advantage
  • knowledge of any other languages will be considered an advantage
  • ability and trustworthiness to handle and be accountable of cash transaction of the front office operations

Responsibilities:

  • manage the entire hotel operation according to company standards
  • manage and motivate the crew, with emphasis on Department Heads
  • supervise general administrative tasks
  • overview cost and budget
  • build a pleasant working environment for all crew
  • implement service procedures and ensure exceptional service and maximum Guest satisfaction at all times
  • organize and conduct check-in and check-out
  • cooperate with nautical department and company’s offices
