Bartender

The Bartender strives to create an experience involving all the senses: a visceral journey of taste, smell and sight. Knowing guests by name, remembering their preferences and anticipating their needs, the Bartender or Barkeep is committed to making guests’ stay on board unforgettable. They are knowledgeable about the bar menu, able to mix a range of high quality beverages, with a wide cocktail repertoire and an excellent feel for what their guests will enjoy. The Bartender is a good salesperson and inspires guests to discover new alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and enjoy their favorite. They make sure that the service levels in the bar area are impeccable and communicates well with the rest of the team to ensure that guests receive prompt, personalized service at all times. We are looking for candidates with experience in similar positions (bartender, barkeeper, barkeep, mixologist, barman, barmaid, bar chef, tapster, mixologist, alcohol server, cocktologist, flairman or alcohol chef).

Requirements:

  • experience in maximising cold and hot beverage sales
  • wide cocktail repertoire ranging from classical to trendy
  • good English language skills
  • ability to teach bar waiters how to recommend, prepare, serve and refill drinks to guests and how to punch the bills correctly
  • friendly manners
  • candidates with knowledge of German are preferred

Responsibilities:

  • manage the entire beverage service on board and the complete bar inventory
  • lead the Bar team and fix the working hours of your staff together with the Hotel Manager
  • carry out the beverage inventory after each cruise and a bar inventory once a month
  • make sure that the different onboard bars have always enough drinks
